I am an RC aviation enthusiast that has enjoyed the hobby for over 20 years. I started out as a young kid enjoying the hobby with my dad. I started out on Guillows kits then moved into RC gliders. From there we got into glow powered planes and that’s where I stayed through high school. After college and once I settled into my career I got more active into electric powered RC aircraft. I played with helicopters though I admit that is one area I just can’t keep a focus on. I joined a club outside Owatonna Minnesota and started getting into giant scale aircraft and mainly warbirds.
A few years ago I decided to become a contest director for the AMA. With this I helped run the Northern Alliance Military Fly In and then started WATTS over Owatonna. Both events are must attend events in the Midwest and attract pilots from all over the country. I have since then also become an AMA leader member.
I enjoy helping others as much as building or flying my own planes. I have been instructing a few people including my own boys. I hope to help others via this blog and just get some general information out there on what I’m doing or am interested at any given time. It will all be RC focused though so no worries for a political rant.
I look forward to interacting with people reading my blog so feel free to leave your comments or e-mail me steve@vintauri.com
Hello,
I found your website from a mention on the CrashCast. Your site has some great information and as I just found it I haven’t had time to watch all of the videos and read the whole site. What caught my eye right away however, is the introduction picture that came up in the banner. It is a plane I recently purchased and although it is up and flying as of the end of last year,I’d still like to know your setup. I am talking about the Seagull Yak 54, black and yellow covering. The plane has flown very well for me, so far!
Keep up the great blog!
Thanks for the kind words. The Yak 54 belongs to a good friend of mine. I’ll check with him and post the setup info here for you.
